Abi Lorrel has taken a very long path to the entertainment business. An young child star in her birth country of Belarus to an up and coming international star based in the USA. Nothing has come easy for this enterprising talented young woman. As a victim of the radiation fallout caused by Chernobyl, her early days marked summers in Spain to help her overcome some of the toxic effects of the radiation fallout engulfing Belarus' food supply.
It was in Spain where Abi Lorrel first learned to speak fluent Spanish as she and her host family's young daughter danced to Britney Spears songs that lit a fire in Abi to become an entertainer. She quickly ascended the celebrity world of Belarus and parts of Russia. She studied music theory and became a classically trained opera singer, composer and musical arranger. By the age of sixteen Abi had already won "MTV best new artist" in Europe. After releasing a Russian language RnB song she decided it was time to try and make it in America. She moved in with her grandmother in Brooklyn and began navigating the music world while juggling her studies at Columbia University. This was the deal she made with her parents and grandparents. Study, work, and you can sing songs after you graduate. But Abi had different plans. She began auditioning for different entertainment opportunities and met Bernard Jackson the Billboard #1 lead singer of the RnB group SURFACE. He was looking for talent and recognized Abi's abilities even though she couldn't speak English fluently; yet. Together with his team, Bernard Jackson began developing Abi Lorrel's inherent talent into a future superstar. Today, Abi Lorrel has worked with many legendary artists and is about to begin debuting the music created from collaborations with entertainment luminaries such as Gladys Knight, Lazyie Bone, Sticky Fingaz, Dennis Deyoung, Jon Anderson, KRS One, Treach, Larry Blackmon and a bevy of other superstar performers.
